The federal government has a responsibility to defend human dignity at home and abroad, yet too many policies tolerate abuse, inequality, and suffering. Human rights are not optional or partisan—they are fundamental obligations rooted in the Constitution and international law.
Standing up for human rights means protecting due process, ending inhumane detention and family separation, ensuring access to healthcare and housing, defending free speech and voting rights, and holding power accountable when it causes harm. It also means aligning foreign policy and funding with these values, not undermining them.
I urge you to lead with principle and courage. Put people over politics, transparency over secrecy, and justice over expediency. Start standing up for human rights—consistently, clearly, and without exception.
