Vote No on H.R.8029 and Any Bill Funding ICE

To: Sen. Blunt Rochester, Rep. McBride, Sen. Coons

From: A constituent in Claymont, DE

March 24

I need you to vote no on H.R.8029 and any bill that includes funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE has proven itself an agency that cannot be reformed, and continuing to fund it makes you complicit in its abuses. ICE separates families, detains people in inhumane conditions, and operates with minimal oversight or accountability. The agency routinely violates due process rights and targets communities based on immigration status rather than any actual threat to public safety. Every dollar that goes to ICE is a dollar that could go toward healthcare, education, or infrastructure that actually serves our communities. Defunding ICE is not a radical position. It's a recognition that we need a completely different approach to immigration that treats people with dignity. I expect you to stand firm against H.R.8029 and any appropriations bill that continues funding this agency.
