By then, it will be too late to shape how this new wealth is shared or to ensure that the American people remain the primary beneficiaries of American innovation. The time to act is now, while we still have the ability to set the foundation and guide the outcome. If we are proactive and thoughtful, we can harness this revolution to create the most prosperous and equitable era in our nation’s history. This will require us to rethink how we define productivity, ownership, and wealth distribution in an age when machines can produce enormous economic value without traditional labor. We must explore frameworks where a portion of GDP created by AI driven enterprises directly supports the broader population. This is not a handout, but a rightful share of the productivity that all Americans helped make possible through decades of innovation, education, and infrastructure. This concept does not reject capitalism. It refines it to ensure that prosperity remains aligned with the public good. Our country has always led the world in innovation. Let us now lead in wisdom by ensuring that the benefits of AI strengthen the foundation of our republic rather than erode it. The decisions we make in the next few years will determine whether this technology becomes a source of mass suffering or the gateway to an age of prosperity beyond imagination.
