Senator McCormick, you wrote the following to me in response to a recent communication: “As I have said, President Trump has nominated a team of disrupters to deliver on his promise of change, and historically presidents of both parties have tended to get their preferred teams in place. President Trump deserves to have a strong team in place to make America safer and more prosperous." It is one thing for President Trump to have built a “team of disruptors” and it is an entirely different issue for them to set out to inexorably destroy this nation. Currently, Mr. RFK Jr. is taking actions to defund the mechanisms by which food safety is ensured in the country. Industry has proved to be incapable of inspecting the products they put on the markets for our families to consume. People stand to die of E. coli contamination. Will you accept to have their blood on your hands? The Covid vaccine will no longer be recommended for healthy children or healthy pregnant women. Will you remain silent and thereby accept responsibility for the possible preventable deaths that will ensue? Mr. Kennedy has reneged on a promise he made to Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. You voted to Mr. Kennedy’s confirmation therefore you will be morally responsible. Pediatricians have stated that the youngest infants face among the highest risks for hospitalization, similar to older adults. Mr. Kennedy’s decision upends the standard process for such recommendations by overruling them. You seem proud to have voted to confirm these “disruptors” therefore you should be morally accountable for what they do that harms our nation. I expected better of you. I expected you to have your own judgment and I was wrong. Will you ever get intellectually and morally involved in your Senate votes or will you simply rubber stamp everything this administration wants to do? I expect you to do better by our stated.
