The proposed school voucher-like program under Senate Bill 2 would direct $1 billion in taxpayer funds away from public schools and into private education. Prioritizing private schools over fully funding our public education system is misguided. Public schools provide a free, quality education to all children regardless of income or circumstances. Diverting resources from public schools will only undermine their ability to serve the vast majority of Texas students. I urge you to vote against SB 2 and instead focus on initiatives that strengthen and improve public education for all Texas children. Our public schools deserve our full financial support and commitment.
