This discriminatory policy barring transgender cadets who met all standards from military service is unacceptable. The Air Force Academy cadets in question demonstrated remarkable resilience, discipline and achievement, overcoming significant challenges to graduate with distinction. Denying them the ability to serve based solely on their gender identity contradicts the military's core values of honor, courage and commitment. This policy breeds intolerance, deprives our armed forces of capable leaders, and tarnishes America's reputation as a champion of human rights. I urge you to take action to rescind this unjust ban and uphold the principles of equality and meritocracy that our nation was founded upon. Qualified individuals willing to serve their country should be judged by their conduct and capability, not discriminated against due to their identity.
