His stance disregards the urgent climate threats already facing Americans, including flooding, heatwaves, and rising healthcare costs due to pollution. 3. Bypassing Senate Confirmation: Vought has advocated for bypassing Senate confirmation for presidential nominees, undermining a vital check on executive power and eliminating the Senate’s role in oversight. 4. Erosion of Accountability: Vought’s record of defying Congress, including his refusal to testify before a Congressional subpoena during his tenure at OMB, raises concerns about his respect for democratic processes and accountability. 5.
