Russell Vought is an unacceptable nominee for Director of the Office of Management and Budget due to his alarming stance denying the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election results. This conspiracy theory has been thoroughly debunked, yet Vought persists in undermining faith in American democracy. We cannot have someone occupying such a powerful position who rejects basic facts and enables disinformation that threatens the foundations of our system of government. Vought's confirmation would be a dangerous capitulation to anti-democratic forces and must be firmly rejected to uphold the integrity of our institutions. The Senate has a duty to ensure only qualified, reality-based public servants are confirmed to critically important roles. Vought's disqualifying views make him unfit to serve.
