TRUMP’S IRAN. CLEANING UP A MESS IS HARDER THAN MAKING ONE.

Karma might be real. Having set fire to the Middle East after ignoring what virtually everyone said would be the result of attacking Iran a second time, Trump is begging other countries to come to his aid. While he golfs. And endlessly rage tweets like a rat on a burning ship. Trying to convince Americans that the US military’s destruction of the Iranian military means the US has won the war. But Iranian attacks continue. They are far from defeated. The Strait of Hormuz is virtually closed, awaiting help from friends and allies around the world that our president has actively worked to alienate. Help that is not forthcoming, even though he insists it is. Iran is continuing very effective drone strikes. Axios reports that Ukrainian officials had tried several months ago to sell the US anti-drone technology for downing Iran-made drones as a sign of thanks for US support and as a way to strengthen ties between the US and Ukraine. But we did not pursue the offer. And now we read that the Trump administration has solicited drone help from Ukraine. But Trump says that is not true. Trump told NBC News that he was “surprised” that Iran attacked other countries after the US and Israeli strikes. He said strikes on Saturday on Kharg Island, home to Iran’s primary oil export terminal, “totally demolished” most of the island but that “we may hit it a few more times just for fun.” He also said that several countries have committed to helping reopen the strait, but he declined to name them. “They’ve not only committed, but they think it’s a great idea,” he said. He said that “Iran wants to make a deal,” but he has declined “because the terms aren’t good enough yet.” But Iran’s foreign minister said Tehran had not even asked for negotiations, let alone a ceasefire. CNN noted that while the US has said it would soon send naval escorts through the strait, shipping executives told them that all their requests to the administration for escorts have been rebuffed. As the true lack of planning in Iran becomes obvious, the administration is increasingly taking the position that the problem is not Trump’s launching an ill-thought-out war, but rather the media outlets’ reporting on that war. Although Trump has been conversing freely with reporters by cell phone since the war broke out, he posted on social media: “The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal (in particular), and other Lowlife “Papers” and Media actually want us to lose the War. Their terrible reporting is the exact opposite of the actual facts! They are truly sick and demented people that have no idea the damage they cause the United States of America. Fortunately, as proven by our Great and Conclusive Election Win in 2024, the People of our Country understand what is happening far better than the Fake News Media!” The Great and Powerful Oz has spoken. And now the federal government is going after the Fourth Estate. Thought for the day…Silencing critics is the refuge of those who know what they are doing is unpopular and unjustifiable. The go-to for incompetence will always be to blame others. The Trump administration holds all the power. They abuse the power. And never take responsibility for any of their actions. Or the consequences. Ever. It’s always someone else’s fault. Always. They are the toddler that has never been told NO. This is not leadership we can trust. And now, neither does anyone else. Mission accomplished.
