Reject provisions weakening judiciary in reconciliation bill
To: Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted
From: A constituent in Dublin, OH
May 27
Please vote no on the reconciliation bill that has moved forward from the House. The American people have made it clear that they expect the rule of law to be upheld and federal court orders to be followed, even by the President. Recent polls show overwhelming bipartisan support for complying with judicial rulings, including those from the Supreme Court. However, concerning provisions buried in the so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" would undermine the authority of federal judges to enforce their orders against the executive branch. This represents a blatant attack on the system of checks and balances enshrined in our Constitution. As members of Congress entrusted with upholding the laws and founding principles of this nation, you must reject any attempts to weaken judicial oversight or grant the President unchecked power. Protecting the independence of the judiciary is essential to preserving our democratic institutions and the rights of all Americans. I urge you to strike down these dangerous provisions that defy the will of the people and threaten the foundations of our republic. Uphold your sworn duty to defend the Constitution and safeguard the rule of law.
