Defend constitutional checks, block executive overreach on federal agencies

DOGE's actions to dismantle agencies like USAID and the Department of Education appear to violate the constitutional separation of powers. Only Congress has the authority to abolish federal agencies through legislation, not the executive branch via executive order. Attempting an end-run around Congress could precipitate a constitutional crisis. Unchecked executive overreach undermines our democratic system of checks and balances. Firing career civil servants en masse and terminating long-standing programs without Congressional approval is an abuse of power. The administration must follow proper procedures and respect Congress' role in authorizing and funding federal operations. I urge you to exercise Congressional oversight and take necessary steps to uphold the Constitution. The independence of the federal bureaucracy and the primacy of the legislative branch in governing must be vigorously defended from executive encroachment. Please act to prevent further erosion of democratic norms and illegal executive overreach that could undermine government functioning and stability.
