The house is on fire . . .
To: Rep. Bonamici
From: A constituent in Beaverton, OR
January 29
The language I’m hearing from Democratic Legislators makes evident they don’t seem to understand the unprecedented opportunity at their doorstep. To those of us on the streets protesting it seems the house is on fire and our Legislators want to empty the dishwasher.
I never thought I’d have the courage or conviction to lay down my life for my Country, but turns out the right (ripe) age and circumstance makes it a far easier decision than many, many of us could’ve imagined.
The number of Americans ready and willing to lay down their LIVES to save this Country from the clutches of Evil is palpable. We are putting ourselves out there, with or without you, and it feels like it’s mostly without you.
Forget the damn dishwasher. We want a brand-new house – NON-NEGOTIABLE:
1) Hold all current and previous criminals accountable for their crimes, including crimes held while in office.
2) Replace electoral college with Popular Vote using Ranked Choice Voting
3) Set term limits for all elected officials, including Supreme Court Justices
4) End Citizens United
5) New Constitutional Convention should be held to fix a variety of problems in the way the U.S. government and society functions in modern-day times (include clause allowing for constitutional changes periodically at given intervals, w/2/3’s vote of Congress?)
