ICE abductees are being systematically abused

To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Van Duyne, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

January 2

ICE abductees are being systematically abused in detention centers across the country, and I urge you to take immediate action to stop those abuses. A recent report from Human Rights Watch, titled “You Feel Like Your Life Is Over,” has exposed horrifying conditions at ICE detention centers in Florida. Abductees, most with no criminal records, are subjected to routine medical neglect, physical assaults, inedible food and endless isolation. The Guardian confirms detainees in Miami face filthy, overcrowded cells and retaliation for speaking out. Even ICE officials admit many centers are plagued by horrible conditions. My wife and I urge you to launch immediate investigations into the horrifying cruelty taking place at ICE detention centers. Hold those responsible for these crimes accountable, and demand additional oversight to make sure the constitutional rights of detainees are no longer violated.
