End the military attacks in Iran

To: Rep. Van Duyne, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

February 28

I am deeply concerned about U.S. military strikes on Iran. I urge you to support the bipartisan War Powers Resolution to rein in unauthorized military action in the Middle East. The Constitution is clear. Only Congress has the authority to declare war. Expanding military operations without congressional approval risks pulling our country into another prolonged conflict in the Middle East without a clear objective or public support. If this Republican administration is allowed to declare war without congressional authorization, then Congress has effectively disbanded itself. We have lived through this before. The lessons of the Iraq War and Afghanistan still weigh heavily on military families and veterans. We should not repeat those mistakes. A war powers resolution is not about weakening America. It is about upholding constitutional balance and ensuring that any decision to go to war reflects deliberation, evidence, and the will of the American people. My wife and I urge you to publicly support and vote for the War Powers Resolution requiring congressional authorization before further military action against Iran.
