Reject HB2586, protect digital privacy and LGBTQ+ rights

To: Rep. Gutierrez, Sen. Sundareshan, Rep. Mathis

From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ

May 31

I strongly urge you to reject HB2586, the "harmful website content; age verification" bill. This legislation threatens digital privacy and free expression while disproportionately impacting LGBTQ+ individuals. Age verification requirements would create significant barriers for queer people to access online communities and resources. This bill risks censoring vital information and spaces for an already marginalized group. Furthermore, it raises concerning data privacy issues by potentially forcing internet users to submit sensitive identity documents simply to participate online. Please stand against this harmful attempt at digital censorship that undermines both internet freedom and LGBTQ+ rights. Vote no on HB2586.
