Who Benefited? Demand Answers on the OBBBA Deficit

To: Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly, Rep. Ciscomani

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

July 9

As your constituent, I demand an explanation on the official record regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). Politicians are currently using the national deficit to justify drastic cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and local housing initiatives. However, the OBBBA itself is a federal deficit machine that deliberately added an estimated $4.1 to $4.7 trillion to the national debt through a top-heavy tax formula, engineering the very fiscal crisis now being used to defund our safety net. I expect a direct answer to this specific question: What measurable, concrete economic benefit did the OBBBA deliver to the working families of this district that justifies the losses to so many Americans to benefit so few? In Arizona alone, hundreds of thousands of residents are losing Medicaid and SNAP benefits to offset this revenue collapse. Do not reply with generic talking points about fiscal responsibility while ignoring the multi-trillion-dollar deficit this legislation created. I expect a factual accounting of this policy's devastating impact on our state.
