Support the first amendment

To: Sen. Lankford, Sen. Mullin, Rep. Hern

From: A constituent in Tulsa, OK

March 4

The First Amendment is a cornerstone of American democracy, protecting the freedom of speech and the right to peaceful assembly. Threatening to expel or arrest students for exercising these fundamental rights is a blatant violation of constitutional principles. Instead of cracking down on dissent, we should be fostering an environment where diverse viewpoints can be expressed and debated openly on college campuses. Suppressing protests through intimidation tactics undermines the very values our nation was founded upon. As elected representatives, it is your duty to uphold the Constitution and safeguard civil liberties for all Americans, including students. I urge you to reject any attempts to curtail free speech and peaceful protests, and to defend the First Amendment rights that are essential to a healthy democracy.
