Block Trump’s Imperialist Invasions and Unauthorized Military Actions
To: Rep. García
From: A constituent in Chicago, IL
January 8
Dear Representative,
I am writing as a constituent to urge you to take immediate action to block any renewed imperialist invasions or unauthorized military actions pursued by Donald Trump or any future administration.
History has shown that reckless military interventions launched without congressional authorization, international legitimacy, or clear humanitarian justification, lead to immense civilian suffering, regional destabilization, and long-term consequences that harm both global security and the United States itself. Wars of aggression are not acts of defense; they are violations of international law and a betrayal of democratic accountability.
The U.S. Constitution is explicit: the power to declare war rests with Congress, not the executive branch. Yet time and again, presidents have bypassed this authority to advance geopolitical domination, resource extraction, or political posturing. This pattern must end.
As a member of the House of Representatives, you have a duty to uphold constitutional limits and prevent the United States from engaging in illegal or imperialist military actions. I urge you to:
Publicly oppose any military invasion, occupation, or escalation not explicitly authorized by Congress.
Support legislation enforcing the War Powers Resolution and restricting funding for unauthorized military operations.
Demand transparency and accountability for any plans involving troop deployments, airstrikes, or foreign interventions.
Center diplomacy, international cooperation, and humanitarian aid over military force.
The American people do not want endless wars, covert invasions, or policies that prioritize domination over peace. These actions drain public resources, endanger lives, and damage the credibility of the United States worldwide.
Congress must act as a check on executive overreach. Failure to do so enables violence carried out in our name without our consent.
I expect a clear public statement explaining how you will work to block unauthorized military actions and uphold constitutional governance.
