The University of Michigan is taking advantage of our community. We pay tax and we elect Regents and what do we get? They have one of the largest endowments in public school history. They have stocks and investments. They own land and pharmaceutical manufacturers. They are a hedge fund in a trench coat. I do not want my tax dollars supporting such an organization, and I dont want them to not pay their taxes to us. They have such a vast impact on our lives, its time we got a return on our investment. I would like you to do everything in your power to remove the public status from the University of Michigan and force them to be a private entity.
