As a dedicated employee of the federal government, as well as a member of the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO (AFGE), which represents over 800,000 federal and District of Columbia government employees, I urge you not to cut federal employee pay and benefits to pay for massive tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest Americans by: -Raising FERS Contribution Rates for all federal employees, regardless of when they joined the workforce, to 4.4 Percent. -Eliminating FERS Supplemental Retirement Payments -Basing FERS Retiree Benefit on High-5 Instead of High-3 Salary Every member of Congress depends on hardworking federal workers in their states and districts to deliver the services their constituents depend on. Paying for billionaires’ tax cuts on the backs of federal workers will, in the end, only hurt your constituents.
