Taxpayers don't want to pay $300 million for the ballroom. Republicans should raise the money to pay for it. Use your election TV ads to ask people to chip in. Maybe donate your Congressional per diem. Or the money you've made from insider trading. I don't care where you get the money as long as it's not from taxpayers. The average Ohioan is struggling to pay their bills amid inflation and runaway corporate profits. We're not happy about paying for the destruction of the East Wing for a garish ballroom or for the no-bid contract that cost 10 times what the President said it would for an algae-filled, paint-peeling reflecting pool. This is exactly the kind of waste, fraud, and abuse DOGE was supposed to root out.
