Veto HB 96

To: Sen. Liston, Rep. Somani, Gov. DeWine

From: A constituent in Columbus, OH

June 25

I am writing to respectfully urge you to veto House Bill 96. This legislation poses serious risks to the rights, dignity, and safety of Ohioans. The bill undermines our shared Ohio values of fairness, privacy, and inclusion, and it threatens to sow division and discrimination where there should be understanding and respect. As a constituent, I am deeply concerned about the precedent this bill sets. Rather than addressing the real challenges facing our state—such as improving education, ensuring access to quality healthcare, or creating economic opportunity—HB 96 targets vulnerable communities and chips away at civil liberties. I believe Ohio can be a leader in building a future where every resident is treated with dignity and respect. Vetoing House Bill 96 would demonstrate your continued commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of all Ohioans. Thank you for your service and thoughtful leadership. I respectfully ask you to stand on the side of justice and equity by rejecting this harmful legislation.
