I am writing to demand that you refuse to vote on budgets until congress holds hearings and oversight investigations into DOGE and reasserts its power of the purse. The Trump administration, Elon Musk, and DOGE should not have the unilateral authority to defund and dismantle federal agencies like the treasury, CFPB, and USAID. Congress needs to stand up and defend its own authority when it comes to such matters and until then, I urge Congress not to vote on budgets. Likewise, I urge that you demand that the budget include a transfer of the US Marshal Service back to the judicial branch as they were from 1789 to 1969 (just as the founding fathers intended) so that the courts have a more direct means of enfircing their rulings if congress and/or the president won’t act.
