Demand Action on Supreme Court Accountability and Reform

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Rep. Elfreth, Sen. Alsobrooks

August 25

The Supreme Court has become a runaway institution, and I need you to act now to rein it in. Justices who face no elections, no term limits, and no meaningful accountability are making sweeping decisions that override the will of the American people — and that has to stop. Support legislation to impose term limits, establish a binding code of ethics, and expand congressional oversight of the Court. The timing of recent rulings is not coincidental. Decisions that expand executive immunity and shield powerful interests from accountability are landing at a moment when they can directly shape an election outcome. That is not justice — it is politics in robes. Congress has the constitutional authority to regulate the Court's jurisdiction and structure, and refusing to use that power is a choice with consequences. I am watching how you respond to this. Voters are paying attention, and inaction is its own answer.
