I am writing as one of your constituents to voice my strong opposition to Chuck Schumer serving as Senate Democratic Leader, and to urge you to support a new, more progressive choice for that role. Senator Schumer's leadership has not delivered the bold action this moment demands. Senate Democrats need a leader who will pursue accountability and not someone who defers, negotiates concessions before negotiations begin, or looks past serious misconduct. Our country needs a leader willing to investigate and prosecute misdeeds, including holding this administration accountable for any war crimes and violations of law committed under its authority. No one should be above the law, and the Senate should say so clearly. Beyond accountability, we need a leader who will fight for an agenda that makes life affordable for working Americans. That means real healthcare reform, including Medicaid for All so that no one goes bankrupt because they got sick. It means fully funded public schools, teachers paid fairly, buildings repaired, class sizes reduced. It means policies that help people: protecting Social Security, raising wages, building affordable housing, and taxing the ultra-wealthy fairly. It means trials for the Epstein Files. These are not fringe positions. They are what a majority of Americans want, and they are what Democratic voters have been demanding for years. Yet under current leadership, the party's response has too often been half measures and capitulation. No more! Please use your voice and your vote within the Senate caucus to back a new generation of progressive leadership. Americans want someone with the courage to prosecute wrongdoing, defend our institutions, and fight unapologetically for policies that actually help people. I will be watching how you respond on this issue, and it will inform my vote in future elections. Thank you for your time and your service.
