Stop ICE Now
To: Gov. Ivey
From: A constituent in Madison, AL
January 9
I am writing as a deeply outraged constituent about the murder of 37‑year‑old U.S. citizen and mother Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in south Minneapolis. Public reports indicate she was in her vehicle on a residential street when an ICE officer shot and killed her, and local officials who have viewed video of the incident are describing a very different sequence of events than what federal authorities and the administration are now claiming.
It is unacceptable that federal officials are pushing a narrative that conflicts with available video evidence instead of committing to full transparency and accountability for the taking of a human life. The public should not have to rely on leaks and conflicting press conferences to understand why a mother of three was shot to death by a federal agent.
I am asking you to:
- Publicly confirm what you know about the incident, including the status of the ICE agent and the scope of the current investigation.
- Demand the immediate preservation and release of all video and audio evidence and oppose any attempt by the administration to mischaracterize what that evidence shows.
- Support concrete limits on ICE operations and use‑of‑force until there are meaningful safeguards, de‑escalation requirements, and real consequences for unlawful killings.
Do you believe the conduct described in current reporting and visible on video is acceptable, and if not, what specific actions will you take in Congress to stop this from happening again?
