I Demand Accountability in Congressional Leadership

To: Sen. Marshall, Sen. Moran, Rep. Schmidt

From: A verified voter in Neodesha, KS

November 5

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the current state of congressional leadership. I am demanding that you use your position and influence to oppose the continued elevation of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries to Democratic leadership positions. I recognize that you are a Republican and do not participate in Democratic caucus leadership elections. However, I believe the current state of our political system demands accountability from every member of Congress, regardless of party. The American people deserve more than political theater, partisan games, and leadership that repeatedly fails to meet the moment. We need elected officials who are willing to put the interests of the people ahead of political power and party loyalty. I do not want business as usual. I do not want leaders who mistake maintaining their positions for providing meaningful leadership. I want accountability, a willingness to acknowledge failure, and a new direction for Congress. I expect you to recognize that the quality of congressional leadership matters, even when it comes from the opposing party. I am demanding that you stop treating leadership positions as entitlements and start demanding accountability from those who hold them. Our democracy deserves better. The American people deserve better.
