An Open Letter

To: Sen. Gallego, Sen. Kelly

From: A constituent in Green Valley, AZ

November 4

We can whistle a happy tune for all of yesterday’s Democratic successes, but the threats to our lives here in southern AZ remain the same. Our environment and aquifer are being threatened by a huge copper mine complex that our state and apparently, federal, representatives have awarded all the permits to a foreign mining company (Hudbay Minerals, Canada) so they can destroy our valley, our aquifer, and our mountain range down here in Green Valley. We are also being threatened by two proposed data centers in Sahuarita. Please vote NO NO NO on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act that will soon require your vote. Right now Hudbay must confine its annihilation to private property. Approval of the BAAJA will allow them to also destroy our national forest by covering it, too, with mine tailings that will destroy the land for eternity. Please do not allow this to happen! Vote NO on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act.
