Today, October 19th, after betraying our ally Ukraine to illegally buy sanctioned Russian oil from Putin in a privately negotiated deal, Mr Trump has taken his unadulterated self-interest to a new low. Mr Trump has claimed that Ukraine’s President Zelensky should be shut out of negotiations for a peaceful settlement to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, largely parroting Putin’s own insistence that only Russia, China, and the United States need attend such negotiations. It is unclear what has prompted Mr Trump to sell out both US and Ukrainian interests in favor of Russian demands; frankly it does not matter. He cannot serve both Putin and our democratic republic. The Trump regime has made any further involvement in negotiating peace in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine impossible. They must be barred from participation as Russian apologists at best and something more, likely. Allow Ukraine truly impartial negotiations with the Trump regime barred from participation.
