Vote No on HR 32, Gives President Power to Strip Cities & Counties of Funding

To: Rep. DelBene, Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray

From: A verified voter in Kirkland, WA

April 8

H.R. 32 grants the President unchecked power to unilaterally defund cities and counties by declaring them as permitting "anarchy, violence, and destruction." This is an alarming overreach that threatens local democracy and autonomy. Municipalities could lose crucial federal funds for core services like law enforcement and infrastructure over subjective assessments by the President. Rather than address legitimate community concerns through constructive reforms, H.R. 32 seeks to bully localities into enacting the President's preferred policies under threat of fiscal punishment. This erodes principles of local control and undermines public faith in fair governance. I urge you to reject this dangerous legislation that centralizes excessive authority in the White House while inflicting collective hardship on Americans based on partisan disagreements with local leaders. Protect local self-governance and vote no on H.R. 32.
