I’m deeply alarmed that the Trump administration is ignoring the Supreme Court’s order to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home. Trump is in clear violation of the Constitution, which you have taken an oath to protect and uphold. If the government can bypass courts for Abrego Garcia, they can potentially do it to any of us. We are in a Constitutional crisis. What are you doing about it?
I understand that Senator Chris Van Hollen has announced that if Kilmar is not home by midweek he plans to travel to El Salvador to check on his condition and discuss his release. EVERY DEMOCRAT should be saying the same, or standing in open support of those who are, if you for some reason absolutely cannot travel to El Salvador.
I have heard he was a criminal; there is no evidence of that. He is not a citizen, but he was here legally and explicitly protected from being removed to El Salvador of all places. I have heard that Trump cannot compel El Salvador and no longer has jurisdiction. Really? We are weaker than El Salvador? For that matter, if we are paying them for this, can we not STOP paying them if they don't return him?
He needs to be brought back. He needs to be WELCOMED back, not threatened with another deportation if he somehow returns on his own from this (illegal! 'administrative error' according to the administration!) one.
