Stop NIH freeze

To: Rep. Jackson, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Denton, TX

January 26, 2025

I am writing to urge you to oppose the freeze on NIH funding. Our scientific and medical research is so important to keeping our advantage as a country, and to the well-being of all our citizens. Even temporary disruptions can lead to lost jobs, stalled projects, and a lack of care for those who need it most. Grant funding from the NIH is how we develop the basic science for all of our lifesaving medications. Funding also supports our university systems to train the next generation of scientists and physicians. The gag order prevents any research from being disseminated, stalling key progress. It also keeps our next generation of great minds from being trained in key scientific concepts. Our brilliant scientists will flee the country if we cannot support their work, training, or practice. Please help keep America a leader in science and medicine. Don’t send us back to the Dark Ages.
