What is the Illinois legislature doing to help prevent what just happened with IL-9 primaries this week? We had FIFTEEN people running for Democratic nominee. It is absurd. We need a voting system that will better reflect the people's will rather than fracturing the vote across 15 candidates. We need a voting system that actually allows third parties to stand a chance in the general election. First Past the Post needs to be a thing of the past NOW. Is ANYONE working on a bill regarding ranked choice, approval or STAR voting? I know Evanston tried to get ranked choice but cook county circuit court blocked it. That is unacceptable. Illinois law needs to amend the election code immediately and give people more flexibility in their representatives.
