Oppose Sale of Nevada's Public Lands
To: Rep. Amodei
From: A verified voter in Reno, NV
May 9
I am writing to express my strong opposition to the provision in the budget reconciliation bill that would result in the sale or transfer of Nevada’s public lands.
As a Nevadan, I value our public lands for their ecological, recreational, and cultural importance. They belong to the people - not private developers - and should be protected for future generations, not used as a budget bargaining chip.
I am particularly disappointed that you, as our representative, introduced the amendment in committee that would authorize this selloff. I expect my elected official to defend our state’s public treasures, not pave the way for their privatization.
I urge you to reconsider your position and withdraw support for any measure that threatens public land in Nevada. Please stand with your constituents in protecting the natural legacy that defines our state.
