For years Democrats have pleaded with the GOP to consider country over party, country over personal ambition. Now we have to ask the same of our candidates for Governor of CA. We have what has been best described as “a circular firing squad”, with each of the Democratic candidates finding fault with one or more of the others. With only 2 GOP candidates vying for the Republican Party votes, there is a real danger that they could both end up in the top 2 of this “jungle primary” and we would end up with a governor toeing the Trump line and policies. At least one of the lower polling candidates will need to bite the bullet and reach an agreement with one of the higher polling candidates and publically support him/her to make sure we have at least one Democrat in the top 2 positions. I have my personal favorite, but if that person is not among the top 3, based on an average of the latest available polls, I’ll have to vote for the highest ranking Democrat to try to have a real choice in the general election. Let’s hope wiser heads prevail over egos and personal agendas to make sure we don’t hand the 4th largest world economy to Trump to ruin. 🙏
