Seeking Ceasefire, Diplomacy for Lasting Israeli-Palestinian Peace
To: V.P. Harris

The ongoing conflict in Palestine has caused immense suffering and loss of life on both sides. As citizens concerned for human rights and committed to finding peaceful resolutions, we call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire agreement to end the destructive cycle of violence. The recent escalation has resulted in tragic civilian casualties, displaced families, and a worsening humanitarian crisis. A ceasefire would allow for desperately needed aid to reach those impacted and create an environment conducive to meaningful diplomacy and negotiations toward a lasting peace. The path forward requires all parties to uphold international law, respect human rights, and address the root causes driving this protracted conflict through good-faith dialogue. We urge our leaders to exercise courage, wisdom and moral leadership in pursuing a just and sustainable resolution that guarantees the security and self-determination of both Israelis and Palestinians. The status quo is unsustainable - only through mutual understanding and a commitment to human dignity for all can we hope to break this deadlock. A ceasefire paves the way for reconciliation and must be a priority to prevent further bloodshed and suffering. I no longer wish to be complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people and hence would like the United States to stop funding the Israeli IDF with my American tax money as well as stop the sale of firearms to them.
