Democratic Leadership
To: Rep. Williams
From: A verified voter in Atlanta, GA
November 4
Following historic wins and taking back both the House and Senate, Democrats will now have to decide on their leaders. I'm writing to express concerns that the priorities of the current leadership are not aligned with the voters who delivered these wins.
Recent statements by Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries indicate they don't intend to pursue accountability for crimes committed by the Trump administration and instead want to focus on affordability and other kitchen table issues. But as Senator Warnock said, "we can walk and chew gum at the same time."
Voters are very clearly angry at the scale of corruption this administration has been engaged in. We need Democratic leaders who can meet this moment, willing to seek justice and enforce the rule of law. If the current leaders are unable to commit to such a strategy, new leaders should be considered. Our country cannot afford to allow people in power to ignore the law and escape facing consequences for illegal actions.
