Gerrymandering: Here’s the cycle we just saw. Gerrymandering a sinecure ‘safe’ seat promotes extremism, indifference and hubris. Extremism, indifference and hubris breeds greed, cruelty and a sense of entitlement to power. Greed, cruelty and entitlement to power creates corruption, authoritarian. Tendencies and retribution. Corruption, authoritarianism and retribution engenders backlash which rejects the premise supporting gerrymandering and removes the illusion of a sinecure ‘safe’ seat.
