I urge you to oppose Donald Trump’s proposal to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. This reckless move would devastate Kentucky’s rural and special education students. Over 68% of Kentucky’s public schools are in rural areas, many relying on federal Title I funds. More than 100,000 students depend on special education services protected by IDEA. Eliminating the Department of Education threatens these critical programs. Additionally, Pell Grants and federal aid help thousands of Kentuckians access higher education and workforce training—essential to our state’s economy. Regardless of party, supporting Kentucky’s students should be a priority. I urge you to stand against this harmful proposal and protect our children’s future.
