It’s Time to Look Inward Before Criticizing Allies

Your recent remarks suggesting that Denmark is not doing enough to defend Greenland from Russia and China struck me as deeply ironic. At a time when U.S. foreign policy is increasingly aligning with Kremlin interests and abandoning our democratic allies, blaming Denmark for not defending itself more forcefully raises serious questions.
As an American citizen, I’m alarmed by the growing pattern of this administration undermining NATO, freezing aid to Ukraine, weakening U.S.-Europe relations, and echoing Russian propaganda. These choices don’t reflect strength—they reflect retreat. And yet, your criticism of Denmark implies that our allies are the ones failing to defend the front lines of democracy.
Let’s be clear: the U.S. is not leading right now. It’s backpedaling. It’s turning its back on core democratic values, emboldening authoritarian regimes, and sending mixed signals to the world.
Rather than pointing fingers at allies like Denmark, I urge you to reflect on our own responsibilities. If we truly care about countering Russian and Chinese influence, it starts with restoring our commitments—to NATO, to our partners, and to the principles of liberty and collective security.
At a time when democracy is under threat globally, we need leaders who act with moral clarity and strategic vision—not just empty rhetoric.
