Stop Repeal of Insulin and Drug Prices Cap
To: Rep. Crockett
From: A constituent in Grand Prairie, TX
January 10
It is no secret that the United States healthcare system is beyond broken. In 2022, the cost cap for insulin and other commonly used drugs was passed. Additionally, a new Inflation Reduction Act will limit out-of-pocket prescription drug copayments my Medicare Part D subscribers, saving these vulnerable Americans thousands of dollars for vital health care. Although these laws covered only a small fraction of American health care costs, these laws were needed improvements and certainly in the right direction in addressing accessibility of health care.
Now House Republicans are filing a bill to completely repeal the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which would significantly increase these life-saving medications for millions of Americans.
While the bill may look like it will reduce government expenditure, these repeals may cost the federal government more in the long run, and certainly hurts the American people. Please use your voice to support your constituents accessibility to health care and work with your colleagues to do the same.
