I am writing out of deep alarm over the ongoing erosion of truth, public health, and moral leadership in our country. Recently, Donald Trump claimed that Tylenol causes autism—a reckless and baseless statement that not only spreads misinformation but actively undermines public trust in medicine, science, and health institutions. Such lies have the potential to cause real harm to families who depend on safe, accessible medications, and they fuel a culture of fear and confusion.
This is not harmless rhetoric. It is a public health emergency. When leaders—current or former—spread falsehoods, and when elected officials remain silent in the face of them, the damage compounds. By capitulating to a man who has repeatedly shown he will say anything for attention, you and your colleagues become complicit in the destruction of public trust, democratic values, and even the basic principle of free speech grounded in truth.
Our nation cannot afford leaders who look the other way. Silence is not neutrality; it is permission.
At the same time, I urge you to end the flow of U.S. weapons to Israel, which only perpetuates suffering and devastation for the Palestinian people. The ongoing bombardments and humanitarian crises are not abstract foreign policy matters—they are matters of life, death, and our shared humanity. The United States must stop fueling violence and instead use its influence to pursue peace, dignity, and justice for all people in the region.
History will remember whether you chose courage or complicity in this moment. I implore you to speak out, act decisively, and uphold the values of truth, compassion, and justice that our nation claims to stand for.
