Stop supporting Netanyahu's government and the IDF's campaign against Palestinians. What is happening in Gaza and the occupied territories meets the legal and moral threshold of apartheid, and continued U.S. backing makes us complicit in it.
The UN's own Declaration on Friendly Relations — adopted unanimously by the General Assembly — holds that peoples resisting the forcible denial of self-determination are entitled to seek and receive support. Scholar Richard Falk applies this directly to Palestinians, whose right to self-determination Israel has denied for decades. A 2022 OHCHR report found that the Oslo process itself perpetuated occupation and violated Palestinian self-determination, a jus cogens norm — meaning it cannot be waived or bargained away. Supporting a government that violates a peremptory norm of international law is not a defensible foreign policy position.
I expect you to use every tool available — conditioning military aid, supporting accountability measures, and publicly opposing Netanyahu's policies — to end this country's role in sustaining that occupation.
