Vote Against Arms Sales to Israel and Support Two-State Solution

I am writing to urge you to vote against any proposed arms sales to Israel and to actively advocate for policies that advance a genuine two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the West Bank demands a fundamental reassessment of America's role in perpetuating this cycle of violence. Continued weapons transfers to Israel not only enable the displacement and suffering of Palestinian civilians but also undermine America's credibility as a broker for peace. The United States has provided over $3.8 billion annually in military aid to Israel, yet this investment has failed to produce security for Israelis or justice for Palestinians. Instead, it has facilitated the expansion of illegal settlements, the destruction of vital infrastructure, and the loss of countless innocent lives on both sides. The moral imperative for change has never been clearer. International law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, prohibits the transfer of populations into occupied territory, yet American-supplied weapons have been used to protect and expand settlements that violate these fundamental principles. Palestinians in Gaza face severe restrictions on movement, access to clean water, healthcare, and economic opportunities—conditions that breed desperation and perpetuate conflict. The two-state solution, supported by decades of international consensus, offers the only viable path forward, yet it requires American leadership willing to apply equal pressure on all parties and condition aid on compliance with international law. California has long been a beacon of progressive values, and I urge you to demonstrate the moral leadership our state is known for. Rather than continuing failed policies that have brought neither peace nor security after decades of conflict, we must pursue a balanced approach that prioritizes diplomacy and accountability. I ask that you vote against arms sales that perpetuate this tragedy and instead champion legislation that conditions military aid on tangible progress toward a negotiated two-state solution. Your leadership on this issue will restore America's standing as a nation committed to international law and human rights.
