Hi, I’m a constituent writing from Denver.
First, I’m tired of Trump threatening our elections. Congress needs to act urgently to protect them from potential interference. They can do this by passing the Protect Our Polls Act, a new bill that would prevent Trump from sending uniformed military or federal law enforcement to the polls to intervene with elections. They can also do it by communicating with the administration that any attempts to meddle in the elections will be met with impeachment and removal. Please get serious about protecting our democracy.
Second, this trade war with Canada is insane and self-destructive. It will drive up prices even more and further alienate our allies to the North. Congress needs to rein Trump in before he bankrupts us all. Stop the tariffs!
Lastly, I’m angry that Hakeem Jeffries met with Jared Kushner, an unelected, unqualified, and deeply corrupt individual whom no one in the Democratic Party should be normalizing. They purportedly met to discuss “potential areas of common ground. We should have no common ground with a fascist administration. House Democrats need to replace Jeffries. The Democratic Party can’t claim to be listening to voters when they refuse to hear our demands for a change of leadership.
