Uphold judicial authority, check Executive's defiance of court orders
To: Assembly Member Jones, Sen. Stec
From: A constituent in Lake Placid, NY
March 17
Tom Homan, the President's border czar, was recently in New York, and some of our representatives are attempting to work with him. However, his statements demonstrate a concerning disregard for the rule of law and the constitutional separation of powers. Homan asserted he does not care what judges think and vowed to continue deportations despite court orders halting them, undermining the authority of the judiciary and the foundational principles of our legal system. This aggressive stance against the courts, coupled with the administration's willful defiance of judicial orders to halt deportations, sets a dangerous precedent that threatens the checks and balances essential to our democracy. I ask you to use your power and influence to rein in these acts.
