Please enforce penalties on big tech for latest CCPA violations (ignoring GPC)

To: Asm. Rodriguez, Sen. Stern, Gov. Newsom

From: A constituent in North Hollywood, CA

April 25

Per reporting from the Markup/CalMatters this week, Google, Facebook/Meta, Microsoft, and other big tech companies are systematically flouting the California Consumer Privacy Act by ignoring user requests that they not track personal information (the Global Privacy Control browser setting). Reportedly there could be billions of dollars in penalties to be collected from these companies. Please do all in your power to see that the California Privacy Protection Agency enforces the CCPA and collects these fines, and please enhance state regulation of the big tech companies that have used state subsidies/breaks to become out of control data harvesting operations.
