The President posted “An entire civilization will die tonight.” As an American, I don’t want to be an accomplice to genocide. As a Catholic, I know this rhetoric offends God. The war in Iran does not serve American interests, and only benefits our adversaries. The best thing for humanity, world peace, and the US economy would be to end this war and bring our troops home. Please use your influence with the President and the cabinet to do the right thing. As Pope Leo XIV said “Let's remember, especially, the innocent: children, the elderly, the sick, so many people who have already become, or will become, victims of this continued warfare—and to remind all that attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law, and that they are also a sign of the hatred, division, and destruction that the human being is capable of." I pray that God leads you to act in the name peace.
