I am writing to express my profound outrage regarding the administration’s recent overhaul of the Title X Family Planning Program, which explicitly shifts federal health grants away from birth control and toward artificially increasing the national birth rate.
Using a 50-year-old public health program to actively limit contraceptive access for women and teenagers is a chilling abuse of power. The federal government has no business manipulating healthcare to engineer a baby boom, promote specific family structures, or lock young people into early parenthood. Forcing young women and teenage girls into early childbearing to satisfy national demographic targets is not a democracy—it is a dystopia that strips citizens of their independent futures.
While this ideological restructuring is a direct assault on personal autonomy, it is also a massive fiscal failure. Title X provides millions of low-income Americans with essential, affordable care—including birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing. Forcing an ideological agenda onto this network ignores decades of public health data showing that every dollar invested in contraceptive access saves taxpayers over seven dollars. Washington should not be inserting federal mandates into private medical decisions, dictating what legal advice doctors can give, or managing the reproductive futures of young citizens.
I am calling on you to:
1. Publicly oppose any Title X guidelines or restructuring that replaces evidence-based contraception with mandates to increase the national birth rate.
2. Support federal legislation that protects and restores full, uncompromised funding for comprehensive teen pregnancy prevention and family planning.
3. Defund federal overreach that allows Washington politicians to dictate the private healthcare and reproductive choices of American families.
As your constituent, I am tracking this issue closely. I expect you to stand up for government restraint, fiscal responsibility, and the basic right of families to determine their own lives.
