"America's most expensive border wall construction is being built in America's least-crossed border sector. That is not a talking point. That is the documented record.
Big Bend accounts for 1.3% of southern border crossings. Contractors are inside the national park today grading roads, building staging camps, running heavy equipment through canyon country that belongs to every American. The wildlife corridor that allows black bears, mountain lions, and jaguars to survive in Texas is being severed permanently. The darkest night skies in the lower 48 are about to get stadium lighting along 100 miles of river.
Every local sheriff, county, law enforcement agency, city council, and resident organization in the region has formally opposed this. Bipartisan. Unanimous. Ignored.
A technology-based surveillance system would cover this terrain better, cost less, and destroy nothing. That option sits on the table untouched while record billions flow to a handful of prequalified contractors.
This is your public land. I am asking you to protect it."
